Week 15: Kansas City Chiefs 27, Las Vegas Raiders 16

Published On: December 18, 2025

Chiefs Control Tempo Early

The Kansas City Chiefs earned a composed 27–16 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders by controlling tempo from the opening drive. Rather than relying on explosive plays, Kansas City emphasized efficiency, ball control, and field position. Short passes, pre-snap motion, and disciplined execution allowed the Chiefs to stay ahead of the chains and limit risk.

Kansas City’s opening drives set the tone. They methodically moved the ball, forcing the Raiders’ defense to defend the entire field. While the offense wasn’t flashy, it was effective — converting third downs and maintaining possession.

Raiders Struggle to Find Rhythm

Las Vegas showed flashes but struggled to sustain momentum. Their run game was bottled up early, forcing the Raiders into predictable passing situations. While their quarterback delivered several strong throws under pressure, protection issues and limited separation downfield stalled drives.

Penalties proved costly, repeatedly erasing positive gains and placing the Raiders behind schedule. Despite moving the ball between the 20s at times, Las Vegas struggled to finish drives.

Defensive Discipline Defines the Game

Kansas City’s defense played one of its most disciplined games of the season. They limited explosive plays, closed quickly on underneath routes, and forced the Raiders into third-and-long situations. Red-zone defense proved especially important, as Kansas City consistently forced field goals instead of touchdowns.

Second-Half Clock Management Seals It

After halftime, the Chiefs leaned heavily into game management. They mixed the run and pass effectively, drained the clock, and avoided turnovers. Each possession ended with either points or favorable field position.

This win reinforces Kansas City’s playoff-ready identity. For Las Vegas, it highlighted the difficulty of overcoming offensive inconsistency against disciplined opponents.
